Recipients

 

2014: DANIEL BRADLEY

Daniel is a top 10% graduate from Friendswood High School where he participated in band, golf, National Honor Society, and UIL Spelling a Vocabulary. He played with the All-State band in 2013, and 2014, both his golf team and academic team advanced to the state competition. In free time, he likes to play golf, Spike-ball, and Ultimate Frisbee. Next year (2015), he will be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree from The University of Texas at Austin, while still continuing to play the French Horn in the UT concert band.

 

 

 


2013: ALEX WAHL

Alex Wahl is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Clear Creek High School in League City, where he participated in the band and National and Spanish honor societies. This past year, Alex was a member of the Virtuosi of Houston, a youth orchestra specializing in small ensemble performances. He also performed with the TMEA All-State band/orchestra in 2012 and 2013. Alex will be pursuing a degree in music education from Indiana University, hoping to build up a strong band program in the future while still devoting much of his time to perfecting his skill on the horn. In his free time, Alex also enjoys playing the piano, kayaking, hiking, and biking.

 

 


2012: ALEC DWYER

Alec is a graduate of Clear Lake High School, where he participated in the band, orchestra, debate team, Quiz Bowl team and National Honor Society. He performed in the TMEA All-State band or orchestra every year of high school and qualified for the TEA State debate tournament his senior year. He will major in French Horn Performance. He hopes to play French horn in a professional symphony orchestra after graduating from college. He enjoys playing his horn, running and swimming.
